President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday lauded Tesla for investing in the Philippines and trusting on the government’s forward-thinking policies and innovation drive.
In his speech, President Marcos pointed out that the Philippine’s infrastructure and policies support the industry and its aspiration for more utilization of Electric Vehicles (EVs).

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged Tesla on Monday to manufacture electric vehicles (EVs) in the country as it moves towards adopting a sustainable development transport system through the reduction of carbon emissions.
Speaking during the launching of the Tesla Center Philippines, President Marcos said more than helping environmental sustainability, Tesla is also empowering the local workforce.
If ever Tesla decide to open an assembly plant in the country, the Elon Musk-owned EV company has a number of location where the company can setup their plant like in Sta. Rosa where a number of car manufacturer’s plant are located, in Clark and also in Subic. Tesla can also go to Visayas region like in Cebu or in Davao if they decide to open in Mindanao.
